Brunel (1806-1859) remains the most famous engineer in British history; famed for his bridges and dockyards, tunnels, steam ships and Great Western Railway.

The Bust

Sculpted at our studios in Bath from photographs of the time.

Around the Base

The objects around the base include some of the great engineers master pieces including the Box Tunnel, Clifton Suspension Bridge, a steam locomotive and the bow of the SS Great Britain.

The etch around the base reads - "THE MAN WHO BUILT THE WORLD" - the title of the 2005 book by Steven Brindle.
