The Origin of Species (1859) was a publishing phenomenon in which Darwin (1809 - 1882) outlined his evolutionary theory, 'Natural Selection', challenging the Church and establishment on the origins of life.

The Bust

Sculpted at our workshop in Bath and inspired by the Spencer Arnold portrait of the great biologist.

Around the Base

For this bust, models around the base include; the evolution of man, giant tortoise, iguanas, magnifying glass, notebooks and the HMS Beagle

The etch around the base reads - "ON THE ORIGIN OF SPECIES"
