The Wellington Arch is a triumphal arch located to the south of Hyde Park. It was designed and built between 1826 and 1830 by Decimus Burton. It once supported an equestrian statue of the 1st Duke of Wellington. The original intention was to have it topped with the sculpture of a "quadriga" as it is today, but this was not installed until 1912.
